Boeing Wins $130M to Support Poseidon System Development and Demonstration

BoeingLogoBoeing Co. has won a $128, 393, 761 contract modification to perform engineering and analysis services in support of the P-8A System Development and Demonstration program.

Work under the cost-plus-award-fee contract modification will involve extended lifetime fatigue testing, teardown and post-teardown analysis of the P-8A airframe, the Defense Department said Thursday.

According to the Pentagon,  Boeing’s work is necessary to authorize P-8A operations for up to 150 percent of the lifetime the testing determines.

Ninety-five percent of work will occur in Seattle, Wash., with the rest in St. Louis, Mo. and the Pentagon expects Boeing to complete contract work in December 2018.

At the time of award, Boeing will receive $128, 393, 761 from the Navy’s Fiscal 2013 Research, Development, Testing and Evaluation contract funds.

The Naval Air Systems Command in Patuxent River Md., is the contracting activity.
