American Systems has promoted 35-year company veteran Joe Kopfman to serve as executive vice president of contracts and administration and chief compliance officer.
Kopfman, former contracts and administration VP, will continue leading those functions and adds responsibility for ethics and mergers and acquisitions programs, the company said Wednesday.
He has served as chairman of the company’s ethics committee since 2006 and joined the committee as a board member in 1999.

Bill Hoover, president and CEO, said Kopfman elevates to a newly-created position intended to help emphasize ethics with internal and external stakeholders.
Kopfman provided leadership and guidance as the company acquired the test and evaluation business from Science Applications International Corp.’s (NYSE: SAI), Hoover said.
The company said Kopfman serves on the National Contracts Management Association’s advisory council and participates in the Professional Services Council.
