Lockheed Helping AF Run Mission Planning Software

LockheedLogoLockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) has won a $49.6 million contract to help the U.S. Air Force sustain and maintain software applications for mission planning and analysis.

The Defense Department said the Air Force received two offers for the indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract through an open competition.

Under the IDIQ, the company will help run software for global strike and product support missions.

Work will occur at Offutt Air Force Base, Neb through Jan. 31, 2018 and the Air Force is allocating funds for fiscal years 2013 through 2018.

Lockheed is also providing signal processor and missile defense equipment for three U.S. Navy ships.
