Lockheed Martin Wins $890M Contract to Build 13 Transport Planes

Lockheed Martin Corp. has won an $889, 503, 871 contract modification for a fiscal 2012 production aircraft buy.

The contract calls for 13 aircraft, including seven MC-130J, four HC-130J, one KC-130J and one C-130J to be built under the basic contract.

All 13 planes are a variation of the C-130J, which is used to refuel other aircraft, transport special operations forces and other troops, deliver supplies, rescue downed military personnel, and rapidly refuel ground military vehicles.

Work will be performed in Marietta, Ga., with an expected completion date of July 31, 2015.

The contracting activity is AFLCMC/WLNNC, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio.
