DRS Names Raytheon Vet Joseph Militano Communications SVP

DRS Technologies has appointed Joseph Militano senior vice president of communications and public affairs, the company announced Thursday.

He will be responsible for media relations, marketing communications, advertising, organizational communications and executive support.

Militano previously served as VP of international and business development communications at Raytheon (NYSE: RTN), where he developed strategy and led communications for the international business.

He also served as the senior communications representative in Raytheon’s Washington office, where he led strategic communications for the homeland security business.

Before joining Raytheon, he held positions of increasing responsibility within Honeywell’s defense and space business and IBM‘s (NYSE: IBM) federal systems business.

At IBM, he led communications initiatives for the U.S. space program in Houston.
