American Systems will help the Navy transfer the branch’s legacy vessels to foreign buyers as part of a potential $1.5 billion contract, the company announced Monday.
President and CEO Bill Hoover said in a release that the company and a team of subcontractors will support the Naval Sea Systems Command’s international fleet support program.
That program also supports foreign coast guards, he added.
The indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract has one base year and four option years.
VSE Corp. serves as the prime contractor on the contract originally awarded in October 2011.
