Software AG Names Paul Orme-Smith North American CEO, Eyes US Public Sector Expansion

Software AG appointed Paul Orme-Smith CEO of Software AG’s North American operations, Software AG announced Tuesday.

Orme-Smith will lead Software AG’s Reston, Va.-based subsidiary, Software AG USA.

The two-decade Software AG veteran will also join the subsidiary’s executive board.

Orme-Smith will be responsible for creating a new federal unit to expand Software AG’s U.S. public sector business.

Software AG CEO Karl-Heinz Streibich said the U.S. market is an important part of Software AG’s growth strategy.

Software AG said Orme-Smith’s appointment reflects the company’s increased investment in the U.S.

Orme-Smith will also be responsible for expanding Software AG’s presence on the West Coast.

Software AG announced it is moving its research and development, product marketing and merger and acquisition functions to the West Coast.

Previously, Orme-Smith served as Software AG’s president of North American sales.
