Deloitte Appoints Former Natl. Security Adviser to Assist Federal Clients

Deloitte has named retired Marine Corps Gen. James Jones as a senior adviser, the company said Tuesday.

Deloitte said Jones, a 40-year Marine Corps veteran, will work with Deloitte’s federal and commercial clients and the company’s defense practice.

Jones served as national security adviser from January 2009 to October 2010.

From 1999 to 2003, Jones served as the 32nd commandant of the U.S. Marine Corps. Following this assignment, Jones served as commander of both U.S. European Command and of NATO‘s central command from 2003 to 2006.

Jones served as CEO of the Institute for 21st Century Energy following his retirement from the military.

“Jim’s vast background as a leader and visionary will benefit both Deloitte and our clients in a time of significant budget challenges, ” said Robin Lineberger, CEO of federal government services at Deloitte.
