HP Buys Autonomy Corp to Expand Enterprise Information Offerings

HP (NYSE: HPQ) has acquired control of Autonomy Corporation plc., buying approximately 87.34 percent of Autonomy shares for $33.77 per share in cash.

The acquisition positions HP in control of Autonomy and as leader in the enterprise information management space.

Autonomy provides IT solutions for unstructured and structured information with data analytics, cloud and workflow management capabilities. It brings 25, 000 customer accounts to HP.

Autonomy will operate as a seperate business unit within HP.
