General Dynamics Wins $429M for Nuclear Submarine Support

The U.S. Navy has awarded General Dynamics‘ (NYSE: GD) subsidiary Electric Boat a $429, 162, 324 contract modification to provide engineering,  planning yard and technical support for active nuclear submarines.

Electric Boat also will provide information services, planning, scheduling and technical support for submarine maintenance and modernization activities, training and facility support, and cost reduction support.

Initially awarded in October 2010, the contract will be worth approximately $1.2 billion over three years if all options are exercised and funded. The project will employ over 3, 000 workers.

The Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity.
