Boeing‘s (NYSE: BA) UK and Ireland branch has hired Matthew Knowles as its director of communication.
Knowles, 36, has spent the last 13 years overseeing communication for the British Chambers of Commerce as well as ADS, a UK and Ireland aerospace defense and security trade organization.
“The UK is a critical market for Boeing, from supporting the UK’s armed forces with equipment such as the CH-47 Chinook helicopter to working with valued airline customers, ” said Sir Roger Bone, Boeing’s UK and Ireland president. “We are delighted to welcome Matthew to lead communications in this important area for the company.”
Boeing employs more than 1, 000 workers in the UK and the company expects more growth.
“Knowles will work closely with Boeing Defense UK, Boeing Commercial Airplanes and the international teams to enhance the companies reputation and help grow our business here, ” said Bone.
