PAETEC (NASDAQ: PAET) has won a three-year contract with the Defense Information System Agency to provide fiber infrastructure to the U.S. Army Aberdeen Proving Ground.
The company will expand DISA’s backbone nework by increasing its fiber network capacity, adding diverse fiber access points and using dense wave division multiplexing over the company’s transport network.
PAETEC will also expand a secure network infrastructure for communication needs of larger populations.
The Defense Department requires DISA to implement end-to-end diverse networks for critical data sites.
“Military facilities must always be reliable in their communication capabilities, ” said Mike Magliato, PAETEC vice president of government solutions. “This contract is an excellent demonstration of how our fiber network services can provide solutions that are high-quality and dependable.”
