Northrop to Develop Unmanned Counter-IED Aerial System

The U.S. Air Force has awarded Northrop Grumman’s (NYSE: NOC) air combat systems business area a $26, 178, 369 cost-plus-fixed-fee contract modification for Sand Dragon B.

Northrop will develop and deploy an unmanned aerial system with counter-IED capabilities.

Work will be performed in San Diego, Calif.  The Air Force Research Laboratory, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, is the contracting activity.
