Lockheed Martin-Backed Student Company Advances to National Competition

A student company sponsored by Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) claimed Best Overall Company award for the third consecutive year at the Junior Achievement of Delaware Valley competition, earning advancement to the North American Competition in Minneapolis, Minn., in July.

According to Lockheed Martin, “the team is made up of students from five high schools across the Delaware Valley and supported by a volunteer staff from Lockheed Martin that included company executives and Finance Leadership Development Program participants.”

“These awards go to 23 talented students who learned the value of business and financial acumen in setting up and running a real company in just 12 weeks, ” said Gerry Fasano, President of Lockheed Martin Information Systems and Global Services-Defense and one of the team’s volunteers. “This program is a great opportunity for students to get real-life experience that will help them later in college and in life.”
