Late last week, Max Healthcare and Perot Systems agreed on a 10-year contract for the latter to provide IT outsourcing and implement electronic health records. It is a landmark deal for Perot Systems, as Max Healthcare now becomes its first India-based healthcare client and its first IT outsourcing client in the India healthcare industry.
The contract calls for Perot Systems to provide full infrastructure management capabilities, data hosting, infrastructure support, project management support, help desk support and the implementation and clinical adoption of an electronic health records system. These services are expected to enable Max Healthcare to improve the quality of care and patient healthcare delivery through better record accessibility.
“Our goal is to provide Max Healthcare with world-class client service and technology solutions, and in doing so enhance their ability to deliver care to their patients, ” said Perot Systems healthcare group president Chuck Lyles. “This modernization effort is a major step for MHC and for the Indian healthcare industry.”
