Siemens Selected by U.S. Army for Energy Monitoring and Metering Solutions

Siemens Energy and Automation, Inc. has partnered with CALIBRE to provide energy monitoring and metering solutions for the U.S. Army Engineering and Support Center. The project calls for the team to track, record, and then report energy consumption by U.S. Army facilities in order to hold accountable individual facilities for their energy consumption. As part of CALIBRE’s team, Siemens will develop and employ a global Army Meter Data Management System (MDMS) for the U.S. Army Engineering and Support Center located in Huntsville, Alabama.

“Our partnership with CALIBRE to provide an energy monitoring system for the U.S. Army demonstrates Siemens’ commitment to helping the U.S. government sector meet the EPAct energy savings requirements, which benefit our economy as a whole, ” said Tom Kopanski, VP of Power Distribution and Controls, Siemens Energy and Automation. “Our scalable, integrated metering products will provide solutions that fit any size facility to achieve the Army’s long-term energy savings.”

Siemens proficiency with power and quality monitoring was a key reason in CALIBRE’s decision to utilize Siemens’ software for the foundation for the Army’s metering program.

CALIBRE is an employee-owned management and technology solutions company headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia.
