Kundra Helps Fill Procurement Policy Position

Federal CIO Vivek Kundra is working to have the administrator of the Office of Federal Procurement Policy position filled as soon as possible. The position was vacated by Paul Denett in September of 2008. Kundra needs the help of the procurement policy office to implement his agenda of simplifying and updating the government’s current buying of technology process with an IT storefront.

According to a FederalComputerWeek article, the deputy director of management at the OMB, Jeff Zients, is in the process of interviewing candidates for the procurement position. Kundra said on Monday that he wants whoever is chosen as OFPP administer to, “recognize we can’t treat technology procurements in the same way we do buying buildings.”
