TYSONS CORNER, VA, May 2, 2016 — Chris Pehrson, senior director of strategic development at General Atomics‘ aeronautical systems business, has said that the C4ISR sector faces a challenge in processing the large volume of sensor data collected by remotely piloted aircraft, ExecutiveBiz reported Thursday.

Pehrson told Bloomberg Government in an interview published Wednesday that the integration of signals intelligence data and data collected through other platforms works to support analysis efforts to produce actionable intelligence.

“Technological advancement… is critical to expanding mission capabilities of RPA, particularly as they operate in less permissive environments and integrate into civil airspace, ” he said, according to the report.

He added that the government can adopt incentives and rapid acquisition processes to drive innovation in the C4ISR sector and update the procurement of new technologies.
