Lockheed, DoD Conclude Initial Tests on Prototype F-35 Helmets


F-35TYSONS CORNER, VA, April 21, 2016 — Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) and the Defense Department‘s F-35 joint program office have concluded initial tests on a prototype third-generation helmet for the fighter jet, ExecutiveBiz reported Wednesday.

Defense News reported Tuesday the team also integrated design updates on the F-35 escape system during the initial helmet tests held at Holloman Air Force Base.

A Lockheed spokesperson said the company expects to deploy the new helmets to F-35 pilots by the end of the year, the report said.
