Lockheed Awarded Potential 3-Year Extension for NASA Johnson Center Services

lockheed martinLockheed Martin has been awarded a potential three-year, $34.6 million contract extension to continue helping to operate NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston.

The extension contains a two-year base period that covers work between Oct. 1 and Sept. 30, 2016 and a one-year option that would extend work to Sept. 30, 2017, NASA said Friday.

The cost-plus-award fee with baseline, level of effort, and indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract is worth up to $1.3 billion if NASA exercises all options.

Lockheed will provide mission control, mission planning, reconfiguration and training services to Johnson’s mission operations directorate.

NASA intends for the contract to support human spaceflight programs such as the International Space Station and Orion multi-purpose crew vehicle.
