CMS Renews Serco Inc.’s Obamacare Application Processing Contract


SercoSerco Inc. will continue processing Obamacare applications for an additional year under an estimated $98 million contract renewals awarded by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, the St. Louis Post – Dispatch reported Thursday.

Chuck Raasch writes Serco began work on the new contract on July 1 at its Wentzville, Missouri-based application processing office.

“We have an option to renew the contract on an annual basis and we determined that Serco met the terms and conditions of the contract during the base period, ” CMS spokesperson Aaron Albright told the publication.

Serco handles Obamacare applications under a potential five-year, $1.2 billion contract with CMS, according to the report.

Raasch writes Serco processed about 300, 000 applications for the program under the first contract period.
