Kajeet’s Derrick Frost: Private 5G Wireless Networks Could Help Agencies Meet Mission Needs

Derrick Frost, senior vice president of operations and general manager of private wireless at Kajeet, said government agencies looking to capitalize on the security and speed that 5G technology offers should consider adopting private wireless and neutral host networks.

In an article published on Carahsoft.com, Frost wrote about the need of agencies for greater control over its networks, assets and information technology infrastructure to ensure the security of its mission-critical applications and services.

“Private 5G wireless networks enable agencies to use SIM-based security and network slicing to create dedicated virtual private networks. This allows the government to oversee the security and capacity of its networks,” he noted.

“And with a private 5G network, agencies don’t have to worry about other organizations operating on the same network and using the same spectrum and bandwidth,” he added.

Frost talked about neutral host networking and how it helps eliminate areas with poor signal strength by establishing a connection between a private wireless network and a wireless carrier.

He also mentioned Kajeet’s Smart Private 5G Neutral Host Platform and how it could help agencies manage private 5G network deployment and operations.

The Kajeet executive stated that agencies should look for industry partners that could help them optimize the design of 5G networks and streamline the deployment, management and monitoring of such networks.
