Wunderman Thompson, an advertising agency that recently merged with VMLY&R to form VML, has secured a hybrid contract potentially valued at $1.91 billion from the U.S. Navy to provide supplies and services to boost the recruiting efforts of the Marine Corps.
The Department of Defense said Friday the firm-fixed-price and cost, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract, initially worth $834.1 million, includes the delivery of full-service advertising agency support to the Marine Corps Recruiting Command.
The single-award contract has one five-year option period, which could be worth a total of $1.9 billion if all options are exercised. The initial fund for the project was allocated from the Marine Corps’ fiscal 2025 operation and maintenance funds upon awarding of the contract on Oct. 31. Other funding will be released as task orders are awarded.
The project will be performed in Atlanta, Georgia, and is expected to be completed by December 2029. The contracting activity is the Marine Corps Installations Command Contracting Office in Arlington, Virginia. Seven proposals were received via Sam.gov.
