 The future of the federal government and contractor workforces is our focus here as we look at a pair of new initiatives announced this week that aim to help build up skill sets for current and future staffers in the public and private sectors.
First, a total of 109 companies have won positions on the unrestricted and small business portions of the joint General Services Administration-Office of Personnel Management potential15.5-year, $11.5 billion Human Capital and Training Solutions contract vehicle announced Monday. OPM will oversee program management functions and the GSA will administer contract awards under œHCaTS, a vehicle designed to give agencies a single resource for contractors™ services in human resource-related functions to help construct and maintain the federal workforce. In another partnership effort, the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency willcollaborate with businesses and academic institutions on temporary worker exchanges between participating organizations. NGA™s goals for the œeNGAge program are to gain more access to technologies in the private sector and expose its employees to different methodologies during their placements.
