The U.S. Air Force and Defense Innovation Unit have selected Google (Nasdaq: GOOGL) to provide a cloud environment to host the service branch’s immersive training devices for remotely deployed personnel.
Google Cloud will help 19th Air Force manage ITDs, support a joint immersive training system and offer a single location for data storage and management, the company said Tuesday.
The platform features an Apigee management platform element designed to standardize an application programming interface layer and enable approved vendors to plug in tools through an open-architecture environment.
