The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Rock Island District is soliciting feedback from industry to identify companies capable of providing Emergency Debris Removal Services. On Tuesday, the unit posted a draft performance work statement on SAM.gov for future Advanced Contracting Initiative, or ACI, contracts.
The ACI program aims to provide rapid and comprehensive debris removal during natural or manmade disasters and emergencies within and outside the contiguous United States.
ACI Contract Details
According to the documents, the selected contractor will provide all personnel, equipment, tools, materials, supervision and other items necessary to perform debris removal. The contractor will also be responsible for all related services, including the management of disaster-generated debris from the point of origin to final disposal.
Work will also include demolition of unsafe structures, removal of vehicles and other titled property, and processing of hazardous material such as lithium-ion batteries.
USACE will award 10 task order contracts for the required debris removal services. Each award will correspond to defined geographic coverage across the United States. The anticipated period of performance for each of the task orders will be five years, with options to extend by up to six months.
Feedback will help refine contract requirements, improve clarity and enhance efficiency in contract administration. USACE is particularly seeking input on the feasibility of proposed requirements, potential challenges, and alignment with industry best practices.
