An applied research laboratory within University of Texas at Austin has secured a potential five-year, $1.1 billion contract from the U.S. Navy to research, develop, engineer, test and evaluate multiple technology platforms for the Defense Department.
DoD said Wednesday the laboratory will support the department’s R&D efforts in various core competency areas that include acoustics, command and control, navigation and warfare systems.
The Naval Sea Systems Command is the contracting activity and the service branch will obligate $340,000 at the time of award.
Work under the indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract will run through September 2022.
