Scott Ward
Scott Ward, a former director of engines and motors at the United Launch Alliance, will join Sacramento, Calif.-based propulsion technology manufacturer Aerojet Rocketdyne(NYSE:AJRD) as vice president of engineering.
The 27-year aerospace engineering veteran will assume his new role on April 4 to offer more than 27 years of aerospace engineering, program management and product development experience, Aerojet Rocketdyne said Tuesday.
At ULA, he oversaw liquid propellant rocket engines and solid propellant rocket motors used in launch vehicles built by the 50-50 joint venture of Boeing (NYSE: BA) and Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT).
“As a long-time customer, Scott not only understands our company and our products, but he brings a unique awareness of where our industry, as a whole, is headed, ” said Aerojet Rocketdyne CEO and President Eileen Drake.
Ward will succeed Marvin Young, who will retire from Aerojet Rocketdyne after a 31-year career there.
Prior to ULA, Ward served as director of development for the Delta IV rocket at Boeing (NYSE:BA).
