Textron Gets $174M Navy Landing Craft Air Cushion Vehicle Production Contract Modification

Textron (NYSE: TXT) has been awarded a potential $174 contract modification to produce additional landing craft air cushion vehicles for the U.S. Navy.

Textron will build and deliver LCAC units 104 through 108 and related technical manuals to the service branch as part of the Ship to Shore Connector program and to exercise an option in a previously awarded contract, the Defense Department said Wednesday.

SSC vehicles are designed to replace the service branch™s current fleet of LCACs and land surface assault components to support military operations from the sea.

Work will occur in Louisiana, Indiana, New Jersey, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, California and Oregon as well as in Norway and the U.K. through October 2020, according to DoD.

The Naval Sea Systems Command will obligate the full contract amount from the military branch™s shipbuilding and conversion funds for fiscal 2016 at the time of award.
