She became the fourth federal CIO in 2018 and has been overseeing the office of e-government and information technology within the Office of Management and Budget.
Kent spearheaded the launch of a cloud computing program and cybersecurity initiatives, including the introduction of updated policies to help federal agencies ensure the security of their networks, during her tenure.
“My commitment was to give 100 percent to improving government technology and citizen services,” Kent said. “It is my hope that the outcomes achieved stand in evidence to that commitment.”
Prior to joining the White House, Kent held senior leadership roles at EY, JPMorgan (NYSE: JPM), Carreker and Accenture (NYSE: ACN).
The report said Deputy Federal CIO and fellow 2020 Wash100 Award recipient, Maria Roat will likely assume Kent’s role on an interim basis, but the White House has not made an official statement on who will step into the position.
