The State Department has cleared a potential $366.2 million foreign military sale of a Boeing-built (NYSE: BA) transport aircraft, equipment and support services to India.
India ordered an additional C-17 Globemaster III aircraft equipped with four turbofan F-117-PW-100 engines, one AN/AAR-47 missile warning system and one AN/APX-119 identification “friend or foe” transponder, the Defense Security Cooperation Agencysaid Monday.
DSCA noted the country is buying another C-17 unit as part of efforts to meet current and future strategic airlift requirements as well as increase combat airlift capacity for Indian armed forces.
The deal will also cover spare and repair parts, precision navigation equipment, support and test equipment, maintenance, publications, warranty, technical documentation, quality assurance and ferry support services.
