The State Department has cleared Kuwait™s request to procure construction services in support of the establishment of various facilities at the country™s Al Mubarak air base under a potential $319 million foreign military sales agreement.
Kuwait requested engineering, design, infrastructure assessment, contract administration, project management, surveys, acquisition and other technical services in support of the construction of hangars, main operations center, warehouses and training facilities at the air base, the Defense Security Cooperation Agencysaid Thursday.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will oversee the FMS deal through provision of contract services and in-house staff.
Kuwait will use the proposed facilities at the air base to provide training to its air force personnel, promote security and ensure military readiness.
DSCA said it notified Congress of the proposed FMS deal Thursday.
