The State Department has approved Israel’s three foreign military sales requests worth approximately $3 billion combined for munitions, guidance kits, bulldozers and related equipment and support services.
The Defense Security Cooperation Agency said Friday it has notified Congress of the proposed FMS deals.
MK 84, BLU-117 General Purpose Bomb Bodies
Israel requested to buy $2.04 billion worth of MK 84 or BLU-117 General Purpose bomb bodies; I-2000 Penetrator warheads; spare parts; accessories, repair and return support; transportation; logistics; technical; U.S. government and contractor engineering; and program support.
The Middle Eastern country will use the munitions and related support services to deter regional threats, strengthen its homeland defense and meet current and future threats.
Prime contractors include General Dynamics, Ellwood National Forge and McAlester Army Ammunition Plant in Oklahoma.
Deliveries for this proposed deal are expected to start in 2026.
MK 83 GP Bomb Bodies, JDAM Guidance Kits
The proposed $675.7 million sale of MK 83 MOD 4/MOD 5 General Purpose 1,000-pound bomb bodies; BLU-110A/B GP 1,000-pound bomb bodies; MU-559C/B Joint Direct Attack Munition, or JDAM, guidance kits; KMU-559J/B JDAM guidance kits and related technical, program, engineering and logistics support will enable Israel to further develop its self-defense capability and improve its deterrence against threats.
Repkon USA and Boeing will serve as principal contractors in this FMS deal.
Deliveries for this possible transaction are expected to begin in 2028.
Caterpillar D9 Bulldozers
Israel also requested to procure Caterpillar D9 Bulldozers from the U.S. government through a $295 million FMS deal to help its ground forces better defend its borders, population centers and critical infrastructure.
Caterpillar will serve as the prime vendor in this proposed sale, which also includes spare and repair parts; corrosion protection; pre-delivery inspections; publications and technical documentation; U.S. government and contractor support; storage; program support; and technical and logistics support services.
DSCA said deliveries for this possible deal are expected to kick off in 2027.
