Space Development Agency Asks Vendors to Resubmit Bids for Tracking Layer Tranche 0 Reevaluation

The Space Development Agency has asked companies that competed for contracts to build missile-tracking satellites for the proposed national defense space architecture to resubmit bids for reevaluation, SpaceNews reported Tuesday.

SDA’s move comes after Raytheon Technologies (NYSE: RTX) and Airbus filed protests challenging the agency’s decision to award the Tracking Layer Tranche 0 contracts to L3Harris Technologies (NYSE: LHX) and SpaceX in October.

SDA is “expeditiously implementing its corrective action plan for the Tracking Tranche 0 solicitation” and “is confident that reevaluation will result in a fair outcome for all involved parties,” Jennifer Elzea, a spokeswoman for the agency, said in a statement issued Tuesday.

Elzea noted that SDA is now awaiting responses after sending evaluation notices to bidders whose offers “are within the competitive range.”
