Sikorsky Lands $187M in Army Contract Modifications for Taiwan, Tunisia UH-60M Helicopters

The U.S. Army has awarded Lockheed Martin‘s (NYSE: LMT) Sikorsky Aircraft subsidiary two contract modifications worth a combined $187.1 million to provide UH-60M Black Hawk helicopters to Taiwan and Tunisia under foreign military sales agreements.

One modification has a potential $148.7 million value and calls for Sikorsky to make six configured UH-60Ms for Taiwan’s air force, the Defense Department said Wednesday.

Sikorsky will perform work in Stratford, Connecticut, through Dec. 31, 2021.

Under the second modification, worth up to $38.4 million, the helicopter manufacturing company will deliver four modified UH-60Ms to Tunisia’s defense ministry, according to DoD.

That work will occur in Palm Beach, Florida and is scheduled to finish April 30, 2020.

The Army Contracting Command has obligated $14.9 million for the Taiwan modification and $3.8 million for the Tunisia modification.

Black Hawk multimission helicopters are built to integrate with the U.S. Army‘s Future Combat Systems and automated aircraft health monitoring system to support vertical lifts in extreme environments.
