Shift5 has launched a tool that could help the Department of Defense and platform operators and owners perform predictive maintenance functions on defense weapon systems.
The company said Friday its platform consists of Shift5 Gauge Cluster, Shift5 Engine and Shift5 Intake components that can be tailored to deliver data-driven insights needed to predict a weapon system’s maintenance needs and extend the platform’s operational availability.
Shift5 Gauge Cluster serves as the analytics, search and dashboarding platform, while Shift5 Intake facilitates the collection of data from standard serial bus protocols on both new and legacy systems. Shift5 Engine detects and provides alert on maintenance requirements and anomalies using advanced models and standards-based rules.
“Existing fleet assets have outdated digital components that limit the ways DoD customers can interact with their fleet data. This results in operators having to perform menial, error-prone tasks to collect information about their fleets,” said Josh Lospinoso, CEO and co-founder of Shift5.
“With real-time, full-take data collection, Shift5 improves their predictive maintenance programs to accelerate diagnosis and reduce maintenance resource requirements,” Lospinoso added.
