Todd Stoessell has assumed the position of vice president and chief financial officer for Blue Origin’s heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle called New Glenn, according to his LinkedIn post Sunday.
He joins the Kent, Washington-based spacecraft manufacturer from Raytheon, an RTX (NYSE: RTX) subsidiary, where he most recently worked as CFO of advanced technology, sustainment and sensors.
His nearly two-decade career at the defense company and its businesses also includes time serving in finance-related executive roles and handling various segments such as integrated communication systems, undersea systems, international business and development programs.
Prior to joining Raytheon in August 2005, Stoessell worked as a business consultant at IBM (NYSE: IBM) for over three years.
Blue Origin’s New Glenn has a first stage designed for a minimum of 25 flights and a liquid hydrogen-powered upper stage for optimized performance. The rocket is expected to launch payloads weighing over 13 metric tons to geostationary transfer orbit and 45 metric tons to low Earth orbit.
