The U.S. Navy has awarded Raytheon (NYSE: RTN) a $172.9 million “undefinitized” contract to supply joint standoff weapons, component parts and support equipment for spares to Qatar under a foreign military sales deal.
Raytheon’s missile systems business will produce 200 AGM-154C Block III weapons and 212 containers as well as provide engineering and technical support services, the Defense Departmentsaid Wednesday.
The Naval Air Systems Command will obligate $84.7 million in FMS funds at the time of award.
AGM-154 is equipped with global positioning and inertial navigation systems and thermal imaging infrared seeker technology designed to help fleet forces engage moving maritime targets.
Contract work will occur through June 2020 at various locations within the continental U.S. and U.K.
