QinetiQ US can continue working on Department of Defense contracts involving controlled unclassified information after passing the assessment of its compliance with the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification Level 2 standards.
Securing the CMMC Level 2 certification validates the implementation of 110 security controls outlined in the National Institute of Standards and Technology Special Publication 800-171 Revision 2 to ensure sensitive data protection against cyberthreats, QinetiQ said, noting that the achievement highlights the company’s robust security governance, risk management and cybersecurity maturity.
“This certification demonstrates our unwavering commitment to protecting the critical information that enables our customers’ most important missions,” said Joe Midyette, QinetiQ US chief information security officer. “Our customers can trust that QinetiQ US has the cybersecurity maturity and operational excellence necessary to safeguard their
sensitive data while delivering the innovative solutions they depend on for mission success.”
According to the QinetiQ Group subsidiary, the CMMC Level 2 certification positions the company as one of the early achievers in a select group of businesses that meet DOD’s enhanced cybersecurity standards.
