Anthony Tata
President Donald Trump will nominate Anthony Tata, a retired U.S. Army brigadier general, as undersecretary for policy at the Department of Defense following John Rood‘s resignation in February, Bloomberg reported Thursday.
Tata is a Fox News commentator and has served as chief growth officer of George West, Texas-based aerial imaging technology maker Air Data Solutions over the past year.
He also led Tata Leadership Growth as CEO and president and previously held leadership roles at KaylaTek, the North Carolina Department of Transportation and other public academic institutions.
His 28-year Army career encompassed roles of increasing responsibility including deputy director for the service branch’s joint improvised explosive device organization.
Rood, who assumed his most recent position at the DoD in 2018, spent more than three decades in government service at the departments of State and Defense as well as the CIA, the National Security Council and Senate.
