An RTX (NYSE: RTX) subsidiary has secured a $221 million contract from the U.S. Navy to help maintain and sustain F135 propulsion systems used by the U.S. military and foreign military sales customers.
Pratt & Whitney will provide material and support equipment, supplies, unit-level support equipment, labor and planning for depot-level F135 maintenance and sustainment activities, the Department of Defense said Friday, the Department of Defense said Friday.
The cost-plus-incentive-fee contract will support the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter program of the U.S. Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps, Military Sealift Command, FMS customers and non-DOD participants.
Work will occur in Arizona, Connecticut, North Carolina, Indiana, Oklahoma, Florida, the Netherlands and other locations within and outside the continental U.S.
DOD expects work to conclude in September 2026.
The Air Force and Navy will cover $164.7 million on the award using their fiscal 2023 aircraft procurement funds. $13.5 million in FMS customer funds and $42.3 million in non-U.S. participant funds will also be obligated at the time of award.
