In a LinkedIn post published Tuesday, Rogge announced that his appointment marks his return to Microsoft, where he succeeds Angela Heise as head of worldwide public sector.
“Public sector organizations around the world are facing a triple mandate: modernize legacy systems, embrace AI to drive national competitiveness, and ensure sovereignty over data and infrastructure. They are exactly the kind of challenges that energize me and that Microsoft is uniquely positioned to help solve,” Rogge said in his post.
He expressed gratitude to Heise and noted that he is excited to partner with governments, defense and intelligence organizations and educators worldwide to help them navigate future public sector challenges.
In a separate post on the professional networking site, Heise welcomed Rogge’s return to Microsoft and said that she would help facilitate a smooth transition.
“With his global perspective and passion for empowering public institutions, I know he’ll build on our momentum and lead the team into its next great chapter,” she said of Rogge.
