A Palantir Technologies (NYSE: PLTR) subsidiary has secured a $178.4 million contract from the U.S. Army to develop a next-generation intelligence ground station system for collecting and disseminating sensor data.
Palantir USG will build five basic and five advanced variants of the Tactical Intelligence Targeting Access Node ground station system, which uses artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies to collect insights from space, aerial and terrestrial sensors to inform mission command and long-range precision fires, the company said Wednesday.
The prime agreement also covers the integration of new technologies and deployment of the TITAN system to the warfighter.
“Building on Palantir’s years of experience bringing AI-enabled capabilities to warfighters, Palantir is now proud to deliver the Army’s first AI-defined vehicle,” said Akash Jain, president of Palantir USG.
In June 2022, Palantir was awarded a $36 million contract from the Army to build a prototype of the TITAN system.
