The U.S. Navy has awarded Northrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC) a $62 million contract modification to exercise an option on a cost-plus-fixed-fee contract for operation and maintenance support to the Broad Area Maritime Surveillance-Demonstrator aircraft.
The modification covers logistics support, deployment of field services representatives and intermediate and depot-level maintenance to support the BAMS-D aircraft’s functions during intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance missions, the Defense Departmentsaid Thursday.
The agency added that the Naval Air Systems Command obligated the full contract amount from its fiscal 2016 overseas contingency operation and maintenance funds.
Majority of the services will be conducted in Patuxent River, Maryland, while the rest will be in Rancho Bernardo, California, and various forward operating locations.
Services are expected to be finished by June 2017.
