Sigma Defense CEO Matt Jones said in a statement published Thursday that Faller brings to the advisory board his vision for integrating capabilities, operational concepts and technology and provide strategic guidance on the company’s platforms and services in support of the U.S. military.
In December, Faller retired from the Navy as commander of U.S. Southern Command, where he provided oversight of military operations in the Caribbean and Latin America.
He previously served as senior military assistant to James Mattis, former defense secretary. His nearly four-decade naval career included time as head of Navy Recruiting Command, chief of legislative affairs for the Department of the Navy and director of operations for U.S. Central Command.
Faller will join other industry veterans on Sigma Defense’s advisory board, including Sigma Defense Co-Founders Scott Ritchie and Thor James; John Lyons, CEO of Sigma Defense subsidiary Solute; and Francis Beaudette, a retired U.S. Army lieutenant general.
