Northrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC) has secured a $99.5 million contract option from the U.S. Navy to support the integration of large aircraft infrared countermeasure systems.
The Defense Departmentsaid Tuesday that Northrop will provide hardware such as weapon replaceable assemblies, support equipment, signal processors, 302 advanced threat warning sensors and 41 control indicator units for Navy and U.S. Air Force combat aircraft under the exercised option.
Northrop will also supply 16 multi-role electro-optical end-to-end test sets as well as 14 smart connector assemblies.
The company will perform work in California, Colorado, Illinois, Maryland and various locations within and outside the continental U.S. through April 2019.
The Navy also awarded Northrop a potential $149.7 million contract in September to provide hardware, production test stations and technical services in support of LAIRCM installation efforts.
