Sigma Defense CEO Matt Jones said in a statement released Wednesday Crall’s focus on mission outcomes aligns with the company’s philosophy and will bring to the team his insight and experience.
“His depth of knowledge within C4 and his focus on connecting data and people at speed will help us deliver greater capabilities and better results for our customers across the DoD,” Jones added.
Crall retired in October 2022 after 35 years of USMC service that culminated in roles as chief information officer and director for command, control, communications and cyber within the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
His military career included time as senior military adviser to the undersecretary of defense for policy and offered advice on cybersecurity, cyberspace operations and vulnerability mitigations. He also helped develop all C4 administrative and operational policy as CIO-C4 for the Marine Corps.
Other members of Sigma Defense’s advisory board are Craig Faller, a retired U.S. Navy admiral; Ed Anderson, a retired Navy rear admiral; Francis Beaudette, a retired U.S. Army lieutenant general; and Sigma Defense Co-Founders Scott Ritchie and Thor James.
