BAE Systems has received a $19M contract from the U.S. Marine Corps to design a wargaming center prototype that will incorporate artificial intelligence, machine learning, data analytics, modeling and simulation processes.
The service branch seeks to build the center at Marine Corps Base Quantico in Virginia to support metrics analysis and training for the service branch’s warfighting operations, the company said Thursday.
Peder Jungck, vice president and general manager of BAE’s intelligence solutions business, said the company plans to apply cloud-based analytics and big data to its prototype work.
USMC selected BAE as one of three prime contractors that will develop systems intended to automate post-game assessments, planning and execution under the project’s cloud simulation and modeling phase slated to run for 18 months.
The defense firm has helped the lab plan, assess and implement wargames over the past decade.
