The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration has awarded ManTech a potential $198.9 million contract to provide support for the NOAA Cyber Security Center, or NCSC, to improve its capability in providing security operations center as a service, or SOCaaS, for its partners.
NOAA announced the award through a notice published Wednesday on SAM.gov.
In January 2023, NOAA issued a sources sought notice seeking potential vendors that could support NCSC’s operations.
What Does NCSC Do?
According to the sources sought notice, NCSC is responsible for the Department of Commerce’s Enterprise Security Operations Center and its ESOC engineering requirements. It also provides comprehensive cybersecurity services for NOAA and its partners as a shared service.
Contract Scope
NOAA expects the contract to provide 24/7 detection and response to potential cybersecurity threats through security analysis, event monitoring and event correlation; IT operational support for NCSC; enterprise cybersecurity services, including multiagency Trusted Internet connections capabilities and Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation tools; and DOC ESOC engineering services for data and service integration.
According to the draft statement of objectives, scope of work includes program management; cybersecurity operations; cybersecurity architecture; computer and network operations and maintenance; and incident handling and response.
