Sikorsky Aircraft, a subsidiary of Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT), has received a contract modification worth $88 million from the U.S. Army for the delivery of eight additional UH-60M Black Hawk helicopters.
The modification exercises an option on a previously awarded contract, the Defense Departmentsaid Wednesday.
Army Contracting Command will obligate the full modification amount from fiscal 2016 “other” procurement funds, DoD added.
Sikorsky will perform work in Connecticut through June 30, 2017.
The UH-60M Black Hawks are designed to be integrated with the Army’s Future Combat Systems and automated aircraft health monitoring technology.
